The NHS remains at high risk of further cybersecurity attacks unless it modernises its IT systems, warns leading cybersecurity expert and CEO of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, Professor Ciaran Martin. He highlighted the NHS’s outdated IT systems, the need to find vulnerable points and improve basic security practices. His warning follows a major ransomware attack in June, by Russian-based hacking group, Qilin, which disrupted healthcare services across London. Martin stressed this issue as the most significant in British history due to the impact on healthcare.
