NHS board warns of further data release risk

NHS Dumfries and Galloway has issued a warning that more stolen personal patient data could be leaked following a recent cyber-attack, in which a large amount of confidential information was stolen. Last week, extortion group INC Ransom threatened to release three terabytes of stolen data and shared a ‘proof pack’ demonstrating they had access to patient data. The health board advises vigilance and to report any suspicious activity to the police.
