Researchers at Proofpoint have discovered a new campaign targeting MacOS users. The operation, run by two new threat actors, TA2726 and TA2727, involves compromising websites and redirecting victims to fake browser update pages. The malware, FrigidStealer, steals user’s data including passwords and Safari/Chrome cookies. This is a significant increase in attacks on MacOS devices, which traditionally face fewer threats compared to Windows. The attacks exploit victims’ geographic location and mimic legitimate installers.
