New version of Android malware FakeCall redirects bank calls to scammers

FakeCall malware now targets Android users, stealing their banking details by redirecting outgoing bank calls to fraudsters. Detected by Zimperium, the latest version sets itself as the default call handler upon installation. It tricks users by mimicking the Android dialer and showing the actual bank’s number, deceiving victims into believing they are interacting with their financial institution, allowing the fraudulent extraction of sensitive information.
