This latest variant uses improved obfuscation methods, stronger persistence mechanisms, and novel infection strategies. Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence suggests the malware’s propagation could escalate significantly. To guard against such threats, Microsoft suggests only installing apps from trusted sources and thoroughly inspecting Xcode projects before downloading.
