International experts have developed a framework, the Digital Health Competencies in Medical Education (DECODE), to address the digital skills gap in the healthcare workforce. The framework, which came from a global consensus, outlines a standard for equipping future physicians with digital health competencies. DECODE consists of four areas of competency and includes mandatory and discretionary learning outcomes like telehealth, AI applications, and health data governance. The framework will be adaptable to different healthcare settings and regional needs.
