New JavaScript Malware Targeted 50,000+ Users at Dozens of Banks Worldwide

A new JavaScript malware, suspected to be connected to the DanaBot stealer, has been detected attempting to steal users’ online banking account credentials by altering the login page of targeted banks and harvesting credentials and one-time passwords (OTPs). Over 40 financial institutions worldwide have been targeted, resulting in an estimated 50,000 infected user sessions thus far. The malware was detected by IBM Security Trusteer in March 2023.
