The US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights has proposed new rules to strengthen cybersecurity in healthcare organizations. The proposal aims to modify the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to better protect electronic protected health information against cyber attacks.
