The flaws exist in the fingerprint sensors from Goodix, Synaptics, and ELAN embedded in the devices. Despite safeguards like Microsoft’s Secure Device Connection Protocol, the researchers discovered methods to circumvent protections and stage adversary-in-the-middle attacks.
