New FDA rule could require nutrition information to be on front of packaged foods

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is planning to require most packaged food products display nutrition information about saturated fat, sodium and added sugar on the front of the packaging. The rule, aimed at helping consumers make healthier choices and combatting chronic diseases, will apply to companies with $10 million or more in annual food sales three years after the final rule is effective, and those with less annual sales four years later.
