McAfee researchers uncovered Android backdoor malware, ‘Xamalicious’, infecting nearly 338,300 devices through 14 apps on the Google Play Store. Despite the removal of the affected apps from the store, users who installed them since mid-2020 may still harbor the malware on their devices. Users are encouraged to manually check their devices for any signs of infection, even after uninstalling the implicated apps, and to use good antivirus software for regular device scanning.
