New Android malware infects 330K devices via malicious apps on Google Play

Android backdoor ‘Xamalicious’ has infected over 300,000 devices through Google Play, according to computer security software company McAfee. Fourteen infected apps, three of which were installed 100k times each, have been removed from Google Play, but active Xamalicious infections may still exist on users’ devices. The majority of infections occurred in the US, Germany, Spain, the UK, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina.
