Indonesian software programmer Yohanes Nugroho has successfully brute-forced the Akira ransomware’s encryption using Nvidia GPUs, giving victims of the ransomware hope of recovering their encrypted data without paying a ransom. Nugroho’s method has already helped one victim and he has shared the decryptor on GitHub.
