Nearly one in five SMBs at risk of shutting down after a cyberattack

Around 20% of small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) could permanently close after a successful cyberattack, according to a survey by cybersecurity firm VikingCloud. Cybersecurity was ranked as the second biggest concern for businesses, after inflation and rising costs. The survey, which covered over 200 North American SMB owners, also found that one-third of respondents had experienced a cyberattack in the past year.
