A Florida-based company, National Public Data, has admitted to a major data breach involving 2.9 billion Social Security records. The incident, which led to at least eight class-action lawsuits, has resulted in personal information being sold on the dark web. The multi-billion record breach involved names, emails, phone numbers, Social Security numbers and addresses and could impact billions in monthly benefits.
