China-linked threat actor Mustang Panda has been associated with a cyber attack on an organization in Myanmar using new malware tooling, including updated versions of the known backdoor TONESHELL and a new tool called StarProxy. Additionally, new keyloggers PAKLOG and CorKLOG, and an evasion driver called SplatCloak were also found. Operations by Mustang Panda, known to target governments and NGOs, have increased sophistication, suggesting improved attack efficacy.
