Most Patient Services Online Following Synnovis Attack

A ransomware attack on lab services provider Synnovis disrupted the UK’s National Health Service, causing thousands of patient appointments and procedures to be cancelled, and triggering a nation-wide O-type blood shortage. While most services have now resumed, the shortage and an amber alert remain. The attack was claimed by Russian-speaking group Qilin. Recovery time from such incidents in healthcare is expanding, with 36% of organisations taking at least a month to recover.
