MoneyGram Payment Systems experienced a breach wherein hackers stole a wide array of customer data. Samples of the stolen information include names, contact details, social security numbers, identity documents, and transaction details. The intrusion, which appears to be a social engineering attack, caused outages in multiple countries. MoneyGram did not yet disclose the actual number of consumers affected by the breach.
