Military Health Firm Pays $11.2M to Settle Cyber Fraud Case

Health Net Federal Services and parent company Centene will pay $11.2 million to settle allegations they falsely certified compliance with cyber requirements in a Department of Defense (DoD) contract. The companies, accused of failing to meet cyber requirements between 2015 and 2018, deny the allegations but agreed to the settlement to avoid protracted litigation. The DoD alleged the company did not manage known vulnerabilities and ignored security auditors’ warnings of potential risks.
