Microsoft has created a scareware blocker to detect and prevent online scams. Integrated into the Edge browser, the blocker uses machine learning and computer vision to spot fake pop-ups intended to deceive users into downloading malware or purchasing superfluous software. The locally-operated tool doesn’t store or send data to the cloud, and it’s open for early feedback in a trial program.
