Microsoft says it squashed malware that infected 394,000 Windows computers

Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit, alongside law enforcement and cybersecurity agencies, has disrupted an information-stealing malware known as Lumma Stealer that infected 394,000 Windows computers between March and May 2022. The malware was used by cybercriminals to steal passwords, credit card details, and cryptocurrency wallets. The unit filed legal action, resulting in the seizure of five internet domains used to operate the malware service.
