Microsoft has launched its Secure Future Initiative to enhance its software security amid rising cyber threats. The initiative features three facets: improved software engineering using artificial intelligence (AI), stronger advocacy for international norms to protect civilians, and enhanced AI-based cyber defences. Addressing previous vulnerabilities like multi-factor authentication defaults, the initiative will also foster threat modelling and code analysis for all commercial products, develop a new identity system, and diminish cloud vulnerability response times by 50%.
