Microsoft asks Trump for help with Russian hacks

Microsoft’s chief legal officer Brad Smith testified that China, Iran, and Russia are intensifying digital efforts to meddle in global elections. This comes as Microsoft’s own security culture was criticised as inadequate by the US Cyber Safety Review Board, after Chinese hackers accessed hundreds of email accounts using its technology. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has vowed to prioritise security while the company improves its Windows operating system.
