A second cybersecurity breach in 2021 at a Michigan health system has affected more than one million patients. The breach at HealthEC, a vendor providing services to Corewell Health, has exposed patients’ personal and medical information. This latest incident follows another at vendor Welltok, where similar patient data was compromised. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has urged the state legislature to make it mandatory for firms to report breaches immediately to her office.
