Whistleblower Arturo Béjar, a former senior engineer at Meta, has reportedly claimed the company has not done enough to protect children on its platforms. According to Béjar, Meta already possesses the infrastructure necessary to safeguard young users from harmful content. His research suggests 8.4% of Instagram users aged 13-15 have seen someone harm or threaten to harm themselves in the past week. Béjar has called for the company to take measures to reduce such content.
