A potential tornado, capable of causing ‘quite damaging’ winds, could strike the UK, according to forecasters. After days of sunny weather, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and hail have been battering parts of the country, following the driest start to spring in nearly 60 years. The Environment Agency warned of potential drought risks without sustained rainfall. No tornadoes have been reported as of yet and they are unlikely to occur in towns or cities.
