Met Office tells gardeners to do these five things in May

UK households are urged to perform five key garden tasks in May: introduce bedding plants like marigolds, petunias, and fuchsias; check for nesting birds before pruning shrubs or hedges; water seedbeds and sensitive crops; establish a regular mowing routine; and ensure good airflow in greenhouses. The Met Office highlights that May’s longer daylight hours, warmer temperatures, and drier conditions offer a ‘perfect environment for plant growth’.
