The goal was set in 2014 by the SNP government but has also been breached by a cumulative 4.2 million days since 2019. The Scottish Mental Health Partnership criticised the government for reducing mental health funding, while Alex Cole-Hamilton, Scottish Liberal Democrats leader, urged for faster action and more investment.
