MedStar Health, a major non-profit healthcare provider serving the Baltimore-Washington area, has disclosed a data breach affecting over 183,000 patients. The breach occurred between January and October 2021 when an outsider gained access to three employees’ emails and files. The compromised data included patient names, addresses, dates of birth and insurance details. MedStar Health urged affected patients to monitor their healthcare statements.
