Medical devices are inherently vulnerable to security breaches

Anand Oswal, SVP and GM of Palo Alto Networks, warned at the HIMSS Healthcare Cybersecurity Forum that medical devices are vulnerable to security breaches due to their connections and unseen vulnerabilities. Between 2020 and 2021, cyberattacks on healthcare organizations increased by 200%. Legacy technology and lack of compliance hinder the security of these devices. Oswal recommended proactive management and a zero-trust approach to mitigate risk.
