With one of the lowest rates of childhood vaccination in the state and only 46% of kindergarten students having been vaccinated against measles, mumps, and rubella, public health officials warn outbreaks will become more frequent due to low vaccine rates and increased vaccine misinformation. The high proportion of exempted students and lax vaccination laws have translated into 12 confirmed measles cases, with more expected.
