Many women skip care due to access issues, survey shows

A new survey by the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions suggests that the U.S. healthcare system is not fully meeting the needs of women. Women are 35% more likely than men to have skipped or delayed medical care over a year, mainly due to issues with access, affordability, and past negative experiences. The study also found women needed 9.9% more healthcare services than men, excluding maternity-related expenses. Women were more likely to avoid mental health services and were 31% more likely to skip care due to cost.
