Investigators have found that malware infected 23 SK Telecom servers, compromising 27 million USIMs, more than the number of the company’s total subscribers. The malware, installed three years ago, leaked international mobile subscriber identity numbers and possibly international mobile equipment identity numbers, which could be used for phone cloning. These findings question the credibility of the earlier government announcement that no such numbers were leaked.
