Malicious web links used to spread malware are increasingly dominating emails, with their usage rising by 144% YoY, according to cybersecurity firm Hornetsecurity. The company’s research found that 43.3% of all email attacks were phishing attempts. Hackers often mimic popular brands such as DHL and Amazon, while HTML files are the most common malware delivery format. The research also revealed there’s no specific industry that is immune to these email-borne attacks.
