Malicious Ads in Search Results Are Driving New Generations of Scams

Scammers are increasingly using search engine ad spaces to appear as legitimate businesses and trick users into clicking on their links. Large tech firms like Google have taken measures to block misleading ads, with the company blocking 5.5 billion ads and suspending over 12.7 million accounts in 2023. However, scammers continue to find new ways to evade detection, often targeting search results for big businesses like Walmart, Slack, and Apple.
