MGM ransomware attack costs $100 million, in busy month for breaches

The recent ransomware attack on MGM Resort International reportedly cost the hotel and casino company $100 million. The company refused to pay the ransom demanded and is now relying on cybersecurity insurance to cover the costs. MGM claims the attack, thought to be orchestrated by ALPHR, a group allegedly linked to the Russian government, has been fully contained. Nevertheless, the full impact of the attack and its associated expenses remain uncertain.
