A ransomware attack on Ardent Health Services led to the postponement of procedures at healthcare facilities across six states. Among those affected were a woman due for heart surgery and a man scheduled for an annual cancer check. Ardent, which protects over 200 healthcare sites, has yet to state when its computer network will be restored. In 2023, at least 299 hospitals reported ransomware attacks.
