Lack of Encryption the Primary Reason for Sensitive Data Loss

A new study by Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) has revealed that although most businesses see the value of encryption in their data security, they often struggle to implement it effectively. A significant difficulty is discerning when and where to apply encryption in order to protect their data. The survey also found that the lack of encryption is the main reason for data loss, and that understanding and adequacy in managing encryption complexities is often lacking due to a shortfall of cybersecurity staff and expertise.
