“Kiberphant0m” Attempts to Extort Trump and Harris, Ignoring the Risks – DataBreaches.Net

Well, I must say, the previous morning had a touch of drama, even by American politics standards. As most of us were processing the election results, a certain someone was attempting to blackmail the newly elected president and the incumbent vice president. Cheeky, isn’t it?

This intriguing character has chosen the rather mysterious alias, “kiberphant0m”. They created a stir with a post, which seemed more like an ultimatum, suggesting they had dirt on the high and mighty. The topic of interest? The potentially scandalous call logs of none other than Trump and the Vice President of the United States. The poor bloke must’ve had quite a heavy breakfast.

The ultimatum was quite clear: unless someone from AT&T got in touch with kiberphant0m or a fellow named Reddington by Sunday, all these privileged call logs would become public. Apparently, kiberphant0m reckons that the threat of arrest wouldn’t stop them. They even added some advice, quite generously I might add, for AT&T to contact them. Quite an attention-seeker, our friend.

A few hours later, a response came from the not-so-enthusiastic Reddington: “Please do not contact me. I want no part in this. Thank you”. Polite to the hilt, don’t you think? Reddington, as we believe, had previously played the mediator in a similar situation involving a Turkish hacker, and AT&T. That one did end with AT&T paying a hefty sum to delete their stolen data. Perhaps, kiberphant0m assumed Reddington would reprise his role. But no, he wasn’t up for an encore.

Now, within the warning post, there was a mention of a character named “Waifu”. The real name behind this tag was Alexander “Connor” Moucka. Old Moucka, also referred to as “Judische”, found himself under arrest in Canada last October, thanks to a U.S request. The offense? Multiple compromises of Snowflake clients, including the big fish, AT&T again. I guess, they’ve been quite popular within the hacking community recently. Canada, being Canada, appears to be amenable to extradition.

And so, we arrive at the thrilling part. What will the Trump or Harris camp respond with to kiberphant0m’s audacious move? Verifiable data from 2022 have been peeked at, and whispers are circulating that these are linked to Trump, Harris and their contacts. A web of intrigue indeed!

All said and done, let’s keep our eyes peeled and ears to the ground as this saga unfolds. I’d say, the game is quite afoot, wouldn’t you agree?
