Wesley Medical Center and Via Christi Health, Kansas’ two largest health systems, have started sharing clinical data through the Wichita Health Information Exchange (WHIE). The WHIE is an affiliate of the Kansas Health Information Network (KHIN), which went live about a year ago with 1,900 providers. The KHIN and WHIE are funded through private grants and provider fees and are awaiting a decision on funding from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT.
