Italy’s cyber espionage scandal: High-profile data breach, secret service sales

Italian authorities are investigating a significant cyber espionage scandal involving theft and sale of sensitive data to foreign intelligence agencies. Former senior police officer Carmine Gallo and Fondazione Fiera Milano president Enrico Pazzali are central figures. The duo allegedly breached servers of various ministries and police networks, stealing information targeting major companies and public figures before selling it through a private company, Equalize, for millions of euros. Another key suspect had reportedly boasted about having over 15 terabytes of data.
