Is there a place for audiovisual recording in medicine?

Pediatric endocrinologist Martin C. Young argues that the use of audio and visual (AV) recording devices can provide valuable protection for healthcare professionals in the U.S., given the increasingly adversarial nature of the industry. This could range from using phone-recorded content, to body-cam or glasses camera. Used correctly and legally, these tools can provide evidence of patient interactions, including instances of abuse or obtaining informed consent.
