Is the Defense Department getting serious about insider threats?

The Defense Department has released new policies and procedures for managing and protecting classified information after Airman 1st Class Jack Teixeira leaked national security secrets. The guidelines mandate NDAs for anyone dealing with sensitive data, track clearance for accessing classified information, and align the DoD’s Secret Compartmented Information Facilities with other intelligence bodies. The launch of a dedicated office to handle insider threats is also in the works.
