Iranian Cyber Spies Use ‘LionTail’ Malware in Latest Attacks

Check Point has identified an uptick in cyberattacks leveraged by an Iranian espionage group, Scarred Manticore. The researchers noted the group’s increasingly sophisticated methods, such as deploying malware with no code overlaps with known families, enabling them to blend in with legitimate web traffic. Scarred Manticore’s primary targets are high-profile organisations in the Middle East, including governments and telecommunication and financial providers.
