US healthcare organizations are facing an increasing number of sophisticated cybersecurity threats, with almost 400 entities reporting incidents linked to ransomware in 2024. Half of these organizations lack confidence in their ability to prevent and manage breaches, with many having inadequate policies and technologies in place. The growing use of IoT devices, artificial intelligence, and cloud-based systems presents new challenges, with unpatched vulnerabilities posing a significant threat. To counter these threats, healthcare entities are focusing on virtual patches, disaster recovery plans, and proactive threat-management strategies.
