Interpol, African Nations Arrest 1,006 in Sweeping ‘Operation Serengeti’

Interpol and African law enforcement agencies have arrested over 1,000 people for running cyberattacks across the globe. The activity, dubbed “Operation Serengeti”, led to the closure of hundreds of thousands of networks and infrastructures, recovering around $44m of the nearly $193m lost to these operations. The crackdown took place from September to October, involving 19 African nations, and is an indicator of vigorous international efforts against cyber right groups.
