Interlock Ransomware Deploys New NodeSnake RAT in UK Attacks

Cybersecurity firm Quorum Cyber has identified two new versions of the NodeSnake malware, believed to be linked to the Interlock ransomware group. The discoveries reveal a shift in the group’s targets, including local government and higher education institutions. Notably, Interlock stole 20 terabytes of patient data from DaVita Healthcare recently. Quorum Cyber’s ongoing investigation highlights the increasing risk to universities, with the potential theft of research data considered an espionage act.
