Inside influencer’s web of lies as she claimed to have cured terminal brain cancer through healthy eating

A new documentary reveals how Australian influencer Belle Gibson fooled over 300,000 followers into believing she had cured her terminal brain cancer through healthy eating. The charade brought Gibson money and fame, including a Penguin book deal and an app promoted by Apple. Journalists discovered in 2015 that she had never had cancer. She was fined AUD410,000 (approx. £240,000) in 2017 for misleading consumers.
