A non-profit health agency in Canada has launched a contest to encourage innovative ideas from healthcare workers for easing workplace stress and increasing staff retention. The Health Workforce Innovation Challenge awards funding and access to resources for ideas that benefit frontline healthcare worker wellbeing and staff satisfaction. Ideas implemented so far include improved shift scheduling and a program where nursing executive hand-delivers appreciation notes and vouchers to staff. There have been over 100 entries to the contest.
