As hackers become more sophisticated and the cybersecurity talent pool shrinks, the responsibility falls on chief information security officers (CISOs) to transition information security into a healthy habit. This involves engaging employees and teaching them basic security concepts to protect not only their personal lives but also the organization. CISOs should also focus on recruiting talent by engaging with high school and middle school kids who have yet to understand the potential of a career in information security. Additionally, hospitals should join information sharing and analysis centers (ISACs) to combat cybersecurity threats collectively.
